Lychgates are not that common - in the island of Guernsey there are only three of them. Vale, Forest and St Matthews (Cobo).

The Lychgate at St Matthew's church is built in the main of seasoned oak from trees from St George's Estate c 1854. the only 'big house' in the parish of St Matthew.
